WHAT YOUR VIDEO SHOULD FOCUS UPON?

Writer: Tasman Bay MediaTasman Bay Media

Obviously you want to grow every area of your business to gain maximum turnover, but creating a strategy around what needs to be the most important, then what’s the second, then third and so on will mean that you’ll give yourselves the best plan of attack.

TRAINING

The most basic and obvious place to start is in health and safety. As every business knows this is the one basic thing which needs to be done to keep your doors open. You can go the Air New Zealand route and add a little fun in there to make the information more palatable, but the core messages will be there for everyone to learn. An important note is that a video isn’t replacing your health and safety officer, in fact it’s there to give them more time to the rest of their job. Also, if the worst does happen, then being able to provide your health and safety video in any court cases will prove what information was given to the member of staff.

But training isn’t just health and safety. A growing company with job specific skillset videos will develop and maintain your workers knowledge. The decision over which training videos to make first can be made easier with a monthly subscription. Every month you’ll be able to make a training video (from as little as $200+GST on a years subscription) and in no time have a catalog of videos covering training for all aspects of your business.

MARKETING

Probably the best place to start is with a brand video. This will encompass all aspects of your business, products, location, staff and website. Generally you’d want to keep this video at either 30, 60 or 90 seconds, with music and possibly a professional voiceover. This type of video will give a great overall look at your company that will rejuvenate past customers interest and entice new ones.

The next stop would be individual product videos, this will give your customers lots of information about what you have to offer.

Also some short customer testimonials will sit happily on your website or Facebook to let new customers know what they’re missing.

Letting your customers know you care about them and your community is a great way to win over the hearts of your fans. So creating a video which shows your caring nature will give your customers just one more reason to love your brand.

Finally is a TV style advert. This is where you can get really creative. This can be a high quality glossy look at your products or abstract with an exciting hook that’s going to have viewers asking “this is amazing, I’m gonna Goggle this.” An advert like this is made to raise brand awareness and create something which your fans will love to share with their friends.
