This month we look into ‘how it all began’ for Tasman Bay Media, with ‘Part 6: Tasman Bay Media’.
Around July 2019 it was decided by Simon and Kate that they would move to Nelson and start a video production business. Kate had always wanted to move back home to Upper Moutere and this seemed like the perfect time. They would move in December, enjoy Christmas, have Simon's Mum and brother over from England for a few weeks and then start on April 1st, at the beginning of the new financial year in 2020, and April Fools' Day.
The business was named, logo was created, showreels edited, website built, business cards printed and a philosophy of producing videos to help businesses expand was decided upon…what could make life difficult when everything was planned so well? Covid.
Half a year before, back in 2019, the ‘best laid plans’ didn’t really include a global pandemic. But Simon and Kate were ready for anything and because of New Zealands response, were able to get up and running while the rest of the world suffered horribly.
And now, just over three years later, Tasman Bay Media is an established production company creating videos for a whole range of businesses across the region and living up to their philosophy of helping businesses expand with the use of video.
Some of the amazing companies Simon and Kate have worked for include, Golden Bay Fruit, Freestyle Hops, Taylors Contracting, Osin, Hybrid Bikes, Inglis Packers, Generation Global, Clayton Hops, Cutting Edge Signs, Cawthron, Ruru Homes, the Moutere Hop, Cawthron, Nude Kiwi, Emsol and many many of Nelson/Tasmans most inspiring business people.

Thanks for reading a little more about the history of Tasman Bay Media, if you’ve missed any parts you can check them out in the Blog.
